The Puerto Rican/Hispanic Youth Leadership Institute (PRHYLI) is a leadership development program for high school students supported by the New York State Senate and Assembly, the Puerto Rican Task Force, the NYS/NYC Network of Regional Bilingual Education Resource Networks (RBERNs), the New York State Education Department and the NYC Department of Education.

This prestigious program empowers Hispanic youth to become informed, confident and engaged leaders. Through an in-depth understanding of the New York State legislative process, students develop leadership, public speaking and advocacy skills while learning how to make a positive difference in their communities. The program honors the legacy of civic engagement and leadership inspired by Angelo Del Toro.
